Kuldip Nayar Committee .

Kuldip Nayar was born on 14 August 1923 at Sialkot, Punjab, British India in a Punjabi Sikh family.
Kuldip Nayar was an Indian journalist, syndicated columnist, human rights activist, author and former High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom noted for his long career as a left-wing political commentator. He was also nominated as a member of the upper house of the Indian Parliament in 1997.

~ He started his career in Urdu journalism where he worked in “Anja am” Urdu newspaper in 1948.
~ Further, he worked as an editor in the Delhi edition of the English newspaper “The Statesman”.
~ During the period of emergency in India, Kuldip Nayar raised a voice against the government through his writings, which also jailed him during the emergency from 1975 to 1977.
~ He also wrote columns for newspapers, his columns and op-eds were published in over 80 newspapers in 14 different languages, including some famous newspapers, “The Daily Star”, “The Sunday Guardian”, “The Deccan Herald, “The Express Tribune, “The Statesman”, and “Prabha sakshi”.
